- What is the cost of membership?
- All levels from $50 and above include membership for two adults living at the same address.

- What is the membership year?
- September 1 through August 31. If you join between May 1 and August 31, your membership will be valid through August of the following year.
- How can I join/renew?
- At a dance, fill out a membership form, and pay by cash or check (you may combine the admission and membership fees in one check). You will be given a receipt; OR download the membership form (http://cdny.org/volunteer.html), and mail it in; OR, use the membership form on the reverse side of a CD*NY mailing wrapper.
- When will I get my membership card?
- It will be mailed to you, along with an acknowledgement letter, usually within two weeks of receipt of payment. We suggest that you keep the receipt, or a copy of your registration form, to show at the door, until your card arrives. Having your card (and exact change) handy for admission is appreciated by the door volunteers!
- What do I get for my membership fee?
- SAVINGS
- Admission discount of $3 at English country dances (Tuesdays) and $4 at contradances (Saturdays); lower rates at special dances such as Fall Fling and Winter Meltown. Country Dance New York Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
- PRIVILEGES
- Members are eligible for: volunteer slots that admit the dancer for free to one or more dances (see http://cdny.org/volunteer.html); serving on the Board; voting in elections; preferred registration for special events such as the Playford Ball and our annual Fall weekends; eligibility for CDSS camp scholarships. Members are welcome to underwrite a dance in honor of a birthday or special occasion. The final dances of the season recognize our members, especially those who have volunteered generously over the year.
- INFORMATION
- Members receive flyers approximately four times a year, with early notice of special events, and StepNotes, the CD*NY newsletter, with articles and other informative and entertaining pieces, three times a year.
- CONVENIENCE
- At very crowded dances, members with card in hand and exact change ready are admitted in the 'express lane'.
- How is my money being used?
- Membership fees are vital to the financial health of this volunteer-run organization. Along with admission fees and donations, they cover the costs of musicians and callers, rent, publicity, administrative expenses, insurance and scholarships, and they help keep admission to our events as low as possible.
- Why is the membership cost so low?
- We depend on volunteers for all of our organizational work, from helping to run dances and maintaining our website, to publicizing events and keeping track of finances. For more details, speak to any member of the CD*NY Board. We encourage memberships and donations at any time of year. Consider adding a few dollars to your membership, or joining at a higher level, to help us remain accessible to as many dancers as possible.
- What if I don't want to get mail from CD*NY?
- We use your mailing address to send you your membership card, but if you do not want to receive mailings, make a note of it on your membership form, and we will honor your request.
