About Us

CD*NY was founded in 1987 to carry on the work previously done by the New York Dance Activities Committee, a part of the Country Dance and Song Society (CDSS).  CDSS put on dances in New York for many decades.  When CDSS moved to the Northampton, Massachusetts area some of the remaining volunteers established CD*NY to carry on the good work.
