One heck of a weekend - great music, great calling, great dancing, great people!  Thanks to the work of so many people - Merle for picking up the idea and pulling all the pieces together and doing t-shirts, Lissa and Kathleen for Dance Parade, Michael for being registrar (more work than expected!), Miriam for multiple web redesigns, Jordan, Chris and Kate and Kathleen and Lissa for Facebook work, Loren for housing coordination and home-made dinner for the band and callers, Judi for flyer… Continue

We have the use of Seminar Room 1 at the Houston Street Center (Chinatown Y) from on Saturday May 21, 11 to 6. It's on the first floor--ask at the desk for directions. Leave your stuff there before the Dance Parade, and take a rest there afterwards to gather your energy for the evening festivities!

Four dances in one weekend a parade and a picnic - Nils Fredland, Will Mentor,  calling in NY. Perpetual E Motion, Giant Robo Dance plus an English Dance on Friday night.  Don't forget to take part in the Parade we will be walking with stilt dancers and behind the float with seven amazing musicians - Our friend, and amazing caller,  Bob Isaacs will call dances.

There is lots of fun dancing in store for us tonight with Tom Amesse and the Flying Romanos.  In addition, there will be a silent auction and all proceeds go to the Third Musician's Fund.  Among other items, Alfred has donated DVDs of classic films for you to bid on.  See you tonight.

 Hope to see you Tuesday night at CD*NY.  Philippe Callens is coming all the way from Belguim to call our dance.  Philippe is a fabulous caller and has a unique style of teaching.  Not only is he a dance teacher, but a marvelous choreographer as well.  You may recognize some of the dances he wrote, including my favorite "Noisette."  No?  Then, how about "Autumn in Amherst" or "An Early Frost"?  Don't miss this opportunity to experience Philippe.  It's perfect way to spend a Tuesday night. …
