Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just curious to try something new, we invite you to step into the joy and connection of English Country and Contra Dancing. All ages and experience levels are welcome—come dance with us!
Events may be added or cancelled so be sure to check here or CDNY’s Dance Calendar for any last minute changes.
Unless specified as mask-optional, our dances require masking.

April 5 – CDNY Playford Ball with MCs Gene Murrow & Orly Krasner (Pre-registration required)
April 8 – English Country Dance Caller: Kalia Kliban; Musicians: Persons of Quality; Masking: Optional
English Country Dances are held every Tuesday evening 7 – 10pm.

Contra Dances are held on most Saturday evenings at 7 – 10pm, with a beginner session at 6:30pm. (Note: the start time has changed!)

May 10th – Caller: Michael Karcher; Band: Petrichord: Colleen Holroyd (fiddle, feet), Sophie Chang (cello), and Bobby LaRose (piano, mandolin); Masking; Optional Celebrating the 10th Danciversary of our friends Ting & Flora
Covid Safety for CD*NY Events
All dances are marked as either mask-required or mask-optional.
We highly encourage everyone to get vaccinated and stay up to date on their boosters. Getting the latest booster is one of the best ways to protect yourself from serious illness and to help keep your communities safe.
Please don’t attend if you feel sick or if you were in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID within the past week. If you do test positive for COVID within a week of attending one of our dances, please let us know by emailing info2@cdny.org.
- General – $20-25
- CD*NY/CDSS/FMSNY members – $15-20
- Students & children ages 16–18 (must show ID) – $15
- Children ages 10–15 – half the price of accompanying adult
- Children under 10 – free
