CD*NY runs weekly social dances with live music in the West Village from September to mid-June.
We welcome dancers of all ages and experience levels to share in the joy and community of English Country and Contra Dancing!

English Country Dances are held every Tuesday evening 7 – 10pm.

Contra Dances are held on most Saturday evenings at 8 – 10:45pm, with a beginner session at 7:30pm.

Covid Safety for CD*NY Events
Starting this season, we are no longer requiring proof of vaccination because of the evolving nature of vaccines (ex. there’s a new one coming out soon but it’s not out yet) combined with the logistical hurdle of monitoring vaccination status at the door. We highly encourage everyone to get vaccinated and stay up to date on their boosters. Getting the latest booster is one of the best ways to protect yourself from serious illness and to help keep your communities safe.
We are continually monitoring the status of COVID in NYC. In order for us to keep this dance safe and accessible to the full community, we are requiring that all dancers must wear a mask in order to dance with us at our events, e.g. a surgical, cloth, or KN95 mask, with the exception of dances designated as mask optional. For dances that require masking, masks must cover the mouth and nose at all times.
Please don’t attend if you feel sick or if you were in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID within the past week. If you do test positive for COVID within a week of attending one of our dances, please let us know by emailing info2@cdny.org.
