DANCE CAMPS

One of the best ways to get your dancing during the summer is to go to a week of dance camp. There are two organizations that run them in the East and several in the West. Among the best are:

Country Dance and Song Society Inc. – They have eight weeks of camps – American dance and music, English dance and music, early music, harmony of song and dance for the singers, and a number of family-oriented camps, all in delightful settings.

Ashokan Fiddle and Dance Camps – Northern, Southern, Western/Swing, Family, and guitar weeks in a rustic setting.

TradMad Week at Pinewoods – A new week that will include contra dance, English dance, and lots of other things, in the wonderful environment of Pinewoods Camp.

Bay Area Country Dance Society weekends and camps in California

FAMILY DANCING

Henry Chapin does an annual family dance at the 92nd St Y, and can be booked for other events.

Princeton Country Dancers holds a series of family dances during the year.

The Country Dance and Song Society and Ashokan have family weeks each summer.
